Lots of money, right? According to Transparency International\u2019s corruption perception index, which scores and ranks 180 countries by levels of perceived corruption, 98% of countries are corrupt, only 2% are least corrupt, and no country is clean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"562\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.hanken.fi\/sustainability-unwrapped\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/10\/Corruption-V2.jpg\" alt=\"Man with suit putting money is an second man's luggage. \" class=\"wp-image-195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.hanken.fi\/sustainability-unwrapped\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/10\/Corruption-V2.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/blogs.hanken.fi\/sustainability-unwrapped\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/10\/Corruption-V2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.hanken.fi\/sustainability-unwrapped\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/10\/Corruption-V2-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.hanken.fi\/sustainability-unwrapped\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2020\/10\/Corruption-V2-850x478.jpg 850w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, the United Nations estimates that $5 to $7 trillion per year is needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) globally, with the estimates being $3.3 to $4.5 trillion per year in developing countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Corruption, which is defined as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain, is the biggest impediment to achieving the SDGs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this episode, <strong>Neema Komba<\/strong>, doctoral researcher in Entrepreneurship, Management and Organisation at Hanken, invites <strong>Matthew Jenkins<\/strong>, knowledge and research manager at Transparency International, and <strong>Prisca Kowa<\/strong>, senior officer at Policy Forum, a network of over 70 Civil society organisations in Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The episode digs into questions like why should\nwe care about corruption when talking about sustainability and the SDGs?
