It funds creative researchers of any nationality and age, to run projects based across Europe.<\/strong> <strong>The ERC has&nbsp;yearly calls&nbsp;for proposals covering all scientific fields. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ERC&#8217;s mission is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to&nbsp;support investigator-driven frontier research across all fields, based on scientific excellence. The ERC has&nbsp;yearly calls&nbsp;for proposals covering all scientific fields. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ERC offers 4&nbsp;core grant schemes:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/funding\/starting-grants\">Starting Grants<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/funding\/consolidator-grants\">Consolidator Grants<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/funding\/advanced-grants\">Advanced Grants<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/funding\/synergy-grants\">Synergy Grants<\/a>.&nbsp;With its additional&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/funding\/proof-concept\">Proof of Concept Grant<\/a>&nbsp;scheme, the ERC helps grantees to explore the innovation potential of their ideas or research results. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Read more about the core grant schemes below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/apply-grant\/starting-grant\">Starting Grant<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For promising early-career researchers with 2 to 7 years experience since PhD.<\/li><li>PIs must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition, and feasibility of their research proposal.<\/li><li>Starting Grants may be awarded up to \u20ac&nbsp;1.5 million&nbsp;for a period of&nbsp;5 years.<\/li><li>Call open 10.7.2024-15.10.2024<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/apply-grant\/consolidator-grant\">Consolidator Grant<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For excellent researchers with 7 to 12 years experience after PhD.<\/li><li>For PIs looking to establishing a research team and continuing to develop a successful career in Europe.<\/li><li>PIs need to demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal.<\/li><li>Consolidator Grants may be awarded up to \u20ac&nbsp;2 million&nbsp;for a period of&nbsp;5 years.<\/li><li>Call open  26.9.2024-14.1.2025 <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/apply-grant\/advanced-grant\">Advanced Grant<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For established research leaders with a recognised track record of research achievements.<\/li><li>For leading principal investigators who want long-term funding to pursue a ground-breaking, ambitious project. <\/li><li>Advanced Grants may be awarded up to\u00a0\u20ac 2.5\u00a0million\u00a0for a period of\u00a05 years. <\/li><li>Call open 29.5.2025-29.8.2025<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/apply-grant\/synergy-grant\">Synergy Grant<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For&nbsp;two to four Principal Investigators to jointly address ambitious research problems that could not be addressed by the individual PIs and their teams working alone. <\/li><li>The transformative research funded by Synergy Grants should have the potential of becoming a benchmark on a global scale.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Synergy Grants may be awarded up to a maximum of EUR 10 million for a period of 6 years.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Call open  11.7.2024-6.11.2024 <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/erc.europa.eu\/apply-grant\">Visit the ERC website for more information on the schemes<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ERC panel members database: <\/strong>You can check previous ERC panel members via the Enspire Science <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/enspire.science\/grants\/erc\/erc-review-panel-members-database\/\" target=\"_blank\">database<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>***<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Please contact research@hanken.fi if you are interested in learning more about these funding opportunities. <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Research Council (ERC) is the premier European funding organisation for excellent frontier research.
