Deadline for applications is 14 May 2024. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This call aims to address how new forms of technological development and digitisation have the potential to be transformative and mitigate labour shortages within the long-term care sector, while also considering that solutions often start from a perspective of technology rather than from the user.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The call covers three interrelated aspects of the labour force shortages in the long-term care sector within the framework of demographic change, ageing and care of older people. Proposals must address all three research topics outlined below, paying particular attention to cross-cutting issues of gender, ethnicity and social inclusion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Working situation<\/li><li>The role of AI<\/li><li>Cross-national differences and similarities within different welfare systems.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aka.fi\/en\/research-funding\/apply-for-funding\/calls-for-applications\/international-calls\/jpi-mybl-2024-call-labour-force-shortages-within-long-term-care-sector-ltc\/\"><strong>Read the call text here.<\/strong><\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each proposal must involve a minimum of three  eligible applicants from at least three different countries participating in the call. Each eligible applicant can only be involved in a maximum of two proposals and can only  be listed as a coordinator on one proposal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The leader of the Finnish sub-project must in addition to their doctorate have other  significant scientific merits. Usually, they are a professor or docent-level  researcher <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although proposals will be submitted jointly by research groups from several countries, individual  research groups will be funded by their respective national\/regional funding organisation. The  applications are therefore subject to eligibility criteria of relevant national\/regional funding  organisations of the respective country\/region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jp-demographic.eu\/activities\/calls\/joint-call-2024\/\">Read the full eligibility criteria in the call text<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Research Council of Finland is the national funder for Finnish participants. RCF funding is granted under the full cost model where Research Council\u2019s funding can be up to 70 % of the total  costs of a project. The duration of the projects can be up to three years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Funding is primarily intended towards the salaries of researchers who  work full-time on the project and for other project costs. The salary of the PI should be approximately max. 1.5 months a year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RCF has decided to fund this call with approximately 700,000 euros.
