ORCID solves name ambiguity and flexibility problems. It allows you to distinguish yourself from other researchers, and&nbsp;keeps your information regardless of changes in your name or affiliated organization. Furthermore, ORCID enables all of&nbsp;your research outputs to be automatically linked to each other. You can maintain&nbsp;all your key information and contributions in one place and don\u2019t&nbsp;need to enter the same personal and publication data into different systems repeatedly.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u202fIt is useful to give your ORCID in funding applications, submitted&nbsp;manuscripts, and CVs. Some publishers and funders require your ORCID.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ORCID also plays an important role&nbsp;in creating your researcher profile in the Finnish national research information hub (<a href=\"https:\/\/hanken.us21.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=2bbae45cc0fb2b9dde840d665&amp;id=877b63f629&amp;e=cb905f214e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">research.fi<\/a>). Only with an ORCID can you sign in and have your profile in\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/hanken.us21.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=2bbae45cc0fb2b9dde840d665&amp;id=4003d7ae88&amp;e=cb905f214e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">research.fi<\/a>\u202fcreated. With your consent, your information will be automatically imported to\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/hanken.us21.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=2bbae45cc0fb2b9dde840d665&amp;id=6224bcfb92&amp;e=cb905f214e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">research.fi<\/a>\u202ffrom your preferred sources \u2013 ORCID and\/or Haris \u2013 from next spring.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u202fHanken is a member of\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/hanken.us21.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=2bbae45cc0fb2b9dde840d665&amp;id=05fdcdf26b&amp;e=cb905f214e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Finnish ORCID Consortium<\/a>. It is strongly recommended that you connect your ORCID to your profile in Haris. Click \u201cEdit profile\u201d and then \u201cCreate or Connect your ORCID ID.\u201d You can authorize the export of content (e.g., research outputs) from Haris to your ORCID account, thus keeping both profiles up to date.
