Research organizations can apply for Research to Business funding for the commercialization preparation of research results. The deadline for applications is 6 March 2024.
The purpose of the commercialization preparation is to clarify the potential exploitation paths of the researched product or service idea and to help choose the most promising paths and ways that can lead to business either in a new start-up or in an existing company. Funding is provided by Business Finland through the Research to Business funding instrument.
At the start of the project, there must be several commercialization options. The entity who commercializes the idea can not be known at the start or during the project. After the project the best way to commercialize the idea should have been identified.
Research to Business projects typically vary in duration from 12 to 24 months, depending on the project’s industry and idea readiness.
