The transforming Health and Care Systems Partnership Programme has opened a call for applications. To apply an Intent proposal must be submitted by 23 May. The deadline for the full application is 13 June.

The Transforming Health and Care Systems Partnership Programme (THCS), which is part of the Horizon Europe Framework Programme, is supporting the renewal of national health and welfare systems to become more people-centred, effectual, and equal. The Framework Programme will last for seven years and allocate more than €300 million for research, innovation, and implementation.

The aim of the call is to identify, develop and implement innovative solutions that can inform decision-making and optimise the delivery of health and care services across different settings. In particular, the call aims:

  1. To provide the necessary knowledge to build the health and care of the future.
  2. To support the implementation of innovative solutions on a larger scale. 

The project duration is 12 to 36 months. The project should include 3 to 9 partners from at least three different participating countries (max. three partners per country).

Academy of Finland participates as the Finnish funder in this call, and has specified its own eligibility criteria in addition to THCS. Finnish research organisations such as higher education institutes, research institutes, technology transfer organisations, innovation intermediaries are eligible to apply, while special rules apply to companies. The PI of the project must have doctoral degree as well as other significant scientific merits.

Funding

The initial funding pre-commitment by the Academy of Finland concerning Finnish projects is 850.000 euros. The Academy’s contribution to funding can be up to 70% of the total project costs. The host institution has to commit at least 30 % of the total project costs.

Application

An Intent to apply must be submitted in the online submission system on the THCS website by 23 May. The deadline for the full proposal is 13 June. Application templates can be found here.

In case of case of positive funding recommendation from THCS call, the applicant is invited to submit the proposal also in the Academy of Finland’s online services for national decision.
