The Research Council of Finland (RCF) has published the call texts for the winter 2026 calls where postdoc researchers can apply for funding for Academy Projects or Academy Research Fellowship. The application can be submitted between 15 October and 12 November 2025 at 16.15 Finnish time.

Academy Projects

  • Applications invited from individual research teams or consortia composed of two or more teams. Usually the PI is a researcher at the professor or docent level.
  • Maximum funding €600,000 for four-year project, €1m for consortium project and €500,000 for consortium subproject; maximum funding proportional to project or subproject duration.
  • Funding to hire a research team and cover direct research costs

Academy Research Fellowships

  • For talented early career individual researchers with first doctoral certificate dated between 1 January 2019 and 31 January 2024
  • Intended for a researcher who does not yet hold a permanent and senior research position. If you have a fixed-term position in a university’s tenure-track system, for example, you can apply for an Academy Research Fellowship.
  • The four-year funding that can cover applicant’s own salary, salary costs of possible research team and other research costs.
  • Maximum funding granted comes to €700,000.
