Business Finland has launched a call for ideas related to the themes: Data Economy, Hydrogen & Batteries and Immersive Customer Experience. The call ends on 19 April.

  • The Data Economy theme seeks projects that research, ideate and develop new business and export opportunities related to the data economy, cooperation and business models, as well as value creation in networks with the help of data. The call is particularly looking for projects that focus on the sharing and use of data in value networks, between organizations and industries.
  • The Hydrogen & Batteries theme aims to find new and innovative ideas that promote hydrogen and battery-related development and future export business. All ideas are valid, which are related to the significant and ambitious promotion of the hydrogen economy and power-to-x solutions. Broader cross-industry solutions that utilize e.g. digital and circular economy, are particularly interesting.
  • Immersive Customer Experience theme seeks projects that creatively combine digital solution with a winning customer experience. The goal of the projects should be to find ways to combine strong Finnish ICT competence with for example service design, behavioral and neuroscience, and utilization of data, thus helping Finnish companies to create new business. The main target group of the call are consortium researching and developing digital consumer business.

The amount of funding awarded based on the application depends on the quality and competitiveness of the proposals in relation to other funding applications.

Who can apply?

Exceptionally, individual research organisations and a consortia of research organisations are eligible to apply (Co-Research). Research organisations can also apply for joint projects together with at least three companies (Co-Innovation).

Application

  • Applications of intent, i.e. short descriptions of the project idea (max. 3 pages), are requested to be submitted by 19 April 2023. The submission is to be done via email.
  • Business Finland evaluates the applications of intent, gives the applicants feedback on the application and tells them whether it is recommended to send the actual funding application or not.
  • The actual funding applications are requested to be sent by 30 August 2023.
