Rector has in autumn 2023 promoted three faculty members to Associate Professors within the tenure track system:

Robert Ciuchita, Associate Professor in Marketing from 1.11.2023

Robert Ciuchita is an Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing and the director of Hanken’s Bachelor (BSc) in Business programme. His research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of service management (e.g., customer experience, customer engagement, customer loyalty), digital marketing (e.g., digital platforms, interactivity, gamification), and innovation management (e.g., service innovation, technology acceptance and continuance). Robert is fascinated by the intended and especially the unintended consequences of new-age technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, virtual reality) on human (e.g., consumers, employees, users) behaviour. He is currently keen on researching digital transformation (i.e., how organizations can employ new age technologies to develop new digital business models that may create value for the organization, its stakeholders and society at large). Robert also serves as an associate editor for Innovation & Technology at the Journal of Business Research and on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Service Research and Industrial Marketing Management.

Maria Ehrnström-Fuentes, Associate Professor in Management and Organisation from 1.8.2023

Maria Ehrnström-Fuentes’ research focuses on the social, political and environmental implications of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in contexts marked by economies of resource extraction, and on grassroots organizations working to regenerate and restore ecologically damaged landscapes in different parts of the world. Her research also includes work on the different meanings assigned to sustainability and ethicality in local food networks and how such meanings affect how these initiatives are organized through place-based economies. Her articles have been published in journals such as Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, Journal of Business Ethics and Organization Currently she is leading a large consortium project on the socioecological and politico-economic implications of ecological restoration through tree planting schemes in the global South (www.treesfordev.fi).

Diego Vega, Associate Professor in Supply Chain Management Social Responsibility from 1.8.2023

Diego Vega’s recent research projects include the analysis of MSF’s intersectional response to Covid-19 during ongoing operations (PI), and the creation of a common data standard for humanitarian organizations for the Frontline Humanitarian Logistics initiative. His current research interests include logistics services in humanitarian operations, modularity, emergency relief logistics, temporary settlements, and competence-based strategic management for humanitarian organizations. Diego is also Director of the HUMLOG Institute.
