Foundation for Economic Education (Liikesivistysrahasto) grants for research and education in business economics are open for application from 1 June to 15 August 2024.
The main goal of the grants is to promote Finland’s economic growth and enhance the competitiveness of its business sector. A grant applicant’s background may be from disciplines other than business economics, embracing fresh interdisciplinary approaches.
Grants
Grants can be applied for by individuals, research groups, and organizations. Most of the grants awarded annually are aimed at doctoral and post-doc studies and education. The duration of personal working grants ranges from 4 to 12 months. In addition, targeted grants are awarded for a conference trip, study visit or other study trip, conference organization or other designated purpose.
The thematic special project Innovations, Commercialization, and Growth by the foundation is an important development area for enhancing Finland’s competitiveness. With the grants awarded during 2024 to 2026, the fund aims to support high-quality business research on this theme.
Three-Year Research Group grant
Research groups can receive three-year grants. The thematic special project for 2024 Innovations, Commercialization and Growth focuses on a key development area for enhancing Finland’s competitiveness.
Three-year research group grant is for EUR 150,000─300,000 (EUR 50,000─150,000 / year). Please note that personal grants are applied for to cover salaries of research group members, while research costs can be in the form of funding that is administered by Hanken. Research groups can include doctoral and post-doctoral researchers working on grants.

A statement from the supervising professor is particularly important for doctoral researchers and early-stage postdoctoral researchers.
