Business Finland is opening a new Co-Creation call where funding is allocated towards the creation of sustainable business opportunities in developing markets. The deadline for application is 26 September 2023.
This funding call encourages research organizations to build business-oriented consortia around a selected research idea and identified business opportunities in developing markets. The aim of the call is to create significant, sustainable business opportunities for Finnish companies in developing markets and enable research organizations to conduct high-level scientific research.
Thematically, the call focuses on combining the needs of the target countries with the strengths of the Finnish economy – in particular digitalization, carbon neutrality and renewable energy, bio- and circular economy as well as health solutions. The call targets developing markets as defined by the OECD (excluding China); especially Indonesia, Kenya, the Philippines, and Vietnam are of particular interest.
Funding can be applied for the following tasks:
- To illustrate how the research idea can promote the SDGs and Finnish business interests in developing markets
- To build a consortia around the research idea
- To identify partners in developing markets
- To develop the research idea with partners
- To prepare for a subsequent Co-Innovation application
The funding call is implemented by Business Finland’s Developing Markets Platform (DevPlat) that offers developing markets related funding and advisory services in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
