Business Finland offers partnership funding for research, development, and innovation projects in leading companies’ ecosystem themes. The next cut off date for partnership model funding is 13 September 2023.
The leading company will prepare a roadmap for collaboration and update the roadmap based on identified needs. Partnership projects must follow the roadmap prepared by the leading company and support the implementation of the leading company’s mission. Roadmaps set out leading companies’ views on the solutions, technologies and competences needed to achieve the defined missions.
Applications for funding may be submitted for projects relating to the subjects described in leading companies’ roadmaps. Funding is intended in particular for joint projects between companies and joint projects between companies and research organizations. Funding may also be granted to individual companies or research organizations or to joint projects of research organizations.
Several calls are opened annually. Next cut-off date is 13 September 2023. Cut-off dates for 2024: 30 January, 20 April, and 30 August.
Funding
Research organizations can apply funding for:
- Co-Innovation project involving several companies or research organizations.
- Minimum: Three companies and one research institute. One of the companies can be a leading company.
- In principle, leading companies participate in Co-Innovation projects with some part of their own project.
- Funding level: 70 % (if the project is involving close international cooperation, Business Finland’s contribution is 80%.)
- Co-Research project: an individual research project or a research project involving several research institutes
- The project must focus on a topic related to the themes of the leading company’s roadmap.
- Several companies must be involved in steering the research.
- Funding level: 60 % (if the project is involving close international cooperation, Business Finland’s contribution is 70%.). In addition, at least 10 % company funding should be targeted.
