The Tandem Industry Academia (TIA) Postdoc call opens in March 2023. In this call funding is provided for joint postdoc research projects between academia and business and industry.
During the project, the post-doctoral researcher works closely with an academic partner for half of the project duration and with an industrial partner for the other half of a two-year period. The researcher remains employed by the university throughout the project period. Projects shall start between 1.9.2023 and 31.1.2024.
There are no specific research themes for the call, but new innovative approaches, multidisciplinary cooperation and new consortia between academic and industrial partners are prioritised. The application should demonstrate the benefits and impacts of collaboration for both parties and for society and the economy more widely.
The call is open from 1 March to 16 April. The Industrial partner submits its own application no later than 7 days after the call closes.
Who can apply?
Funding will be granted to a university or research institute for the purpose of hiring a postdoc researcher for two years. The postdoc researcher does not necessarily have to be identified at the funding application stage; the postdoc hired with the funds may also be appointed after the application review process.
The funding is applied by the project’s Principal Investigator (PI), who completes the application form. The Principal Investigator is a senior-level researcher employed by the academic partner organisation and supervises for the duration of the project the work of a postdoc. The Industrial Partner must also submit their own (shorter) application.
